Q: Can I save my work on the application and come back later?
A: Yes, you can save your work by clicking the "Save" box at the bottom of most pages. Then click Logout, at the top of the page to leave the application.

Q: I'm having trouble cutting and pasting.
A: You can only copy and paste plain text without formatting. Most problems arise when the document that you're copying from includes text laid out in tables or columns. If you have trouble, either re-type the materials directly into the text box, or edit them in a plain-text editor such as Notepad. Note that you cannot paste directly from Microsoft Excel.

Q: Does the word limit include spaces?
A: We enforce a character limit, not a word limit. The character count does include spaces, and it will not necessarily be the same as the character count provided by other programs, such as Microsoft Word. We provide a rough word count as a guideline, but only the character count is important. Your total character count is generally displayed below the field as you type.

If you exceed the character count, other fields on the same form will be saved, but the field which is over the limit will be completely discarded. Your answer will never be automatically truncated.

Q: Can I work on more than one application at a time in the same browser?
A: No, be sure you have only one copy of your application open and are working only on that. If you are working on multiple applications, be sure that you sign out of the first before working on the second.

Q: What if I'm over the word limit?
A: The application cannot be submitted if you have exceeded the word limit for each section. Feel free to use common abbreviations to shorten your character count.

Q: Can I attach my work samples electronically?
A: No.

Q: Will my application be available to me online after the deadline?
A: Yes. Remember your username and password, and you may return to the application anytime and check its status.

Q: Can I make changes to my application after the deadline date?
A: No.

Q: Can I share my username (email address) and password?
A: Yes, collaborators can all access the application with the same email address and password.

Q: Can we work on the application simultaneously on two different computers?
A: Yes. But be careful you don't overwrite each others' work!

Q: Do I need to click anything to submit the application?
A: Yes, there is a submit button at the end of the application which you must click to submit. Once you've clicked the submit button, you will no longer be able to edit your application.

Q: Should I jump around from page to page on the top navigation menu or the home page menu?
A: You can use either. On the home page, a check will appear next to each portion of the application that you complete.
